How much a loyalty program costs: subscription, rewards and time
In short: a digital loyalty program has three costs: the software subscription (in Mexico, 149 to 499 pesos a month for self-service apps; for global apps, USD 25 to 199 a month), the cost of the rewards you give away (based on what they cost you to make) and the time to set it up and train the staff. Club Card costs USD 59 (MXN 1,099 in Mexico) a month and includes setup.
Club Card's card, counter app, dashboard and signup are in Spanish only.
Many owners compare only the monthly price. This guide adds everything up so you can compare the real cost for the year.
The three costs
| Cost | What it includes | How it's calculated |
|---|---|---|
| Software | Digital card, dashboard, data | Monthly price times 12 |
| Rewards | What you give away when a card is completed | Cost to make times completed cards |
| Time | Design, sign, rules, training | Hours from the owner or the staff |
1. The software
Prices published on the official pages, checked on October 22, 2026 and reviewed on November 1, 2026:

| Promolu (Mexico) | 299 MXN/month | Self-service |
| Tago (Mexico) | 350 MXN/month | Included |
| Membresi (Mexico) | 499 MXN/month | Self-service |
| Loopy Loyalty | $25/month | Self-service |
| Stamp Me | USD 49/month (offer) | Self-service |

2. The rewards
This is the most underestimated cost. It's calculated by what the reward costs you to make, not by its menu price.
An example with hypothetical numbers: your coffee sells for 50 pesos and costs you 15. The card asks for 8 stamps. If 40 cards are completed in a month, you gave away 40 coffees that cost you 600 pesos. Those 40 customers made at least 320 paid visits.
Two ways to lower the cost without lowering the value:
- A reward the customer already buys. A coffee means more to them than a product they never order.
- An upgrade instead of a product. The large size or an extra costs little more.
3. The time
With a self-service app, the owner designs the card, writes the rules, makes the sign with the QR and trains the staff. There's no public measure of how many hours that takes; plan on a few hours the first week and some time each month to review the numbers.
If your time is scarce, an option with setup included can come out cheaper over the year even if it costs more per month.
A full-year example
With hypothetical numbers for a coffee shop with one location, in dollars:
| Cheap self-service | Setup included | |
|---|---|---|
| Software | USD 25 × 12 = 300 | USD 59 × 12 = 708 |
| Rewards | Same for both | Same for both |
| Owner's time | 10 hours to start and 2 per month | Review numbers each month |
The cost of rewards is the same, because it depends on your rule, not on the software. The difference is in the price and in how much of the work you do yourself.
Costs you won't see on the pricing page
- The sign and the QR. Printing a sign per location costs little, but someone has to design it.
- The counter phone. If you don't have a spare one, add it to the budget. A phone or tablet with a camera and internet is enough.
- Training. Every new staff member has to learn to stamp and to offer the card.
- The exchange rate. If the provider charges in dollars and you sell in pesos, your yearly cost moves with the dollar.
What you pay for and what you don't
- Setup fee: it varies. Some providers charge it separately; Club Card doesn't charge for setup.
- Commitment: check whether the contract is annual. Club Card has no commitment.
- Per location: some charge per branch. Ask before you sign up.
- Messages: SMS or WhatsApp usually cost extra.
What Club Card includes for USD 59
- A stamp card with your brand in Google Wallet, which updates itself; on iPhone, in the browser.
- A CRM with each member's data and a dashboard with active and dormant members and who comes back within 30 days.
- Setup done by our team.
- No setup fee and no commitment.
We estimate those pieces cost around USD 199 a month separately: about USD 100 for a CRM, about USD 49 for a digital card and about USD 50 for management and setup. It's our own estimate. With the 2026 AI Month promo, businesses that sign up by December 31, 2026 pay USD 29 a month for the first 3 months, then USD 59. The first year then comes to USD 618 instead of 708. How to tell if it's worth it
Keeping customers is cheaper than winning new ones: according to Harvard Business Review, acquiring a new one costs between 5 and 25 times more than keeping one (HBR, 2014). For your shop, compare each month how many members came back against what the software and the rewards cost you.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a digital loyalty card cost?
In Mexico, the self-service apps we reviewed charge 149 to 499 pesos a month. Global ones, USD 25 to 199. Club Card costs USD 59 (MXN 1,099 in Mexico) with setup included.
Are there free digital stamp cards?
Loyverse includes free points inside its POS. The others we reviewed charge a subscription.
How much should I spend on rewards?
Work it out by the cost to make it. A reward that costs you little and the customer values, like their usual coffee, gives back a small part of what they spent.
